Simple Technique to Reduce Stress and Improve Your Relationship
Some days just do not go the way we like. We may wake up feeling sleep deprived. Our inbox is filled with all sorts of requests and crisis we have to manage. As we rush to work, our commute is filled with tension and unexpected delays. We have to deal with difficult coworkers or customers. We may feel treated unfairly or unappreciated by our bosses. Our commute back home is also filled with tension and more delays. We may arrive home feeling angry, frustrated, on edge, and stressed out. All we want to do is veg out by watching TV and eating some ice cream. Sounds familiar?
These sorts of days can create what has come to be known as chronic stress. Chronic stress is associated with sleep problems, anxiety, mood problems, obesity, distractedness, and a host of other chronic health conditions. It can also wreak havoc on our relationships. We may find it difficult to have the energy to connect with our spouse or partner, who is also probably stressed out. Or maybe we find ourselves feeling snippy with them or frustrated with their reaction to us when we try to talk about our day.
In the first episode of our YouTube show we review a technique you and your spouse can use to destress from your days, be present for each other, and improve your friendship. Try this technique at home and let us know how it goes!
